Questions for Self Reflection
What do you stand for?
By what values do you live your life?
What do you envision for future of the society in which you live?
What world do you want to leave your kids and grandkids?
What and whom do you love?
What conflicts impede your vision of hope for the future? How do you envision their resolution?
What can you learn about yourself, for your life, from the chaos makers and extremists around you?
What is hatred? What is dehumanisation? What is evil? What do your definitions mean for your life and the hope you envision?
How can we disagree without warring? Can we disagree without warring?
What if there aren’t any monstrous people doing evil things, what if there are people like you and me, what if many of them believe in the nobility and righteousness of their cause?
How can we avoid feeding demonic forces in the world as we fight those demonic forces? How much do we feed the things we fight against?
Are you a cynic? How’s that serving your higher purpose?
Note: the three points on cynicism are taken from Julie Canlis’s OTC advent lecture on Zachariah.
