The “United Front” of Liberal Party of Canada
A brief timeline of the Trudeau Liberals’ divisive politicking + partisan hijacking of national security and their weird affinity for the CCP and Xi Jinping’s regime

“A united front is an alliance of groups against their common enemies, figuratively evoking unification of previously separate geographic fronts or unification of previously separate armies into a front.” — via Wikipedia
Today I thought I would briefly recap the evolution of the Trudeau-led Liberal Party of Canada’s relationship with Chinese communists seeking to advance Xi Jingping’s political interests and agenda.
Let’s begin with the photo gallery, shall we, reader?1
Top row: the first two photos: “Justin Trudeau parties with Liberals and Canada Toronto Fuqing Business Association chair Weng Guoning, who established the United Front organization under guidance of the Chinese government. The CTFQBA was identified as one of the Chinese police stations.”
Top row third photo from the left: “Justin Trudeau with his trusted Liberal volunteer Gu Jianyun of Red Maple [Journal]. Gu has been campaigning with him since 2015. She works with the United Front2, and also partnered with Russia Today, China News Service, and Xinhua - all foreign missions in the US.”
Second row images: “Gu Jianyun is chairman of the Belt Road News Agency & the London Hongmen (Zhi Gong Party) founded by Situ Meitang, who kowtowed to Mao Zedong, being a Mem. of the 1st Commission of Overseas Chinese Affairs (ancestor of OCAO) in 1949.”
Third row images: left and right screenshot images are more osint about Gu Jianyun and middle photo shows Trudeau senior meeting Mao Zedong, one of his heroes, in 1973.
Let’s talk about The Red Maple Journal (RMJ).
Fun fact about RMJ3: in 2016, Red Maple News was the only Chinese press from Canada invited to Beijing to attend National People’s Congress & the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. It also has branches in Beijing, Guizhou and Chengdu.
The RMJ published an article in 2023 defaming an anonymous Chinese dissident, per ASPI: the article has laundered personal—and publicly unavailable—information to defame Teacher Li, a pseudonym for a Chinese painter based in Italy who became prominent during the 2022 ‘white paper’ protests for sharing information from Chinese social media platforms on Twitter … It’s unclear whether Red Maple News produced the article of its accord or was directed to publish it. Nor is it clear who the author is or how they obtained the information contained the story.
Reader, I want you to remember that, whilst the Canadian government twisted its corrupt partisan ass and thumbed it’s nose at allegations of PRC foreign interference, whilst it dragged its feet on taking action against PRC interference, even despite its own Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) identifying the foreign interference (FI), Australia was doing actual foreign interference investigations, and reporting their findings about the Canadian landscape in a meaningful and accessible way. Also, reader, I want you to remember that an NGO called Safeguard Defenders, brought the problem of Chinese Overseas Police Stations into the public eye.
To recap: Spamouflage bots amplified the defamation and doxxing perpetrated by the RMJ of an anti-CCP dissident.
Here’s a screenshot I captured today from the RMJ website.

Translation of the opening paragraph :: [Hongfenglin News/Yitian, Haopeng, Xiesheng] On February 4, 2025, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau attended the Lunar New Year reception on Capitol Hill in Ottawa to celebrate the Year of the Snake with many federal ministers, congressmen and guests of all ethnic groups. The political dignitaries attending the event included Minister of International Trade Mary Ng, Secretary of Immigration Paul Chiang, [MP] Jean Yip, Yasir Naqvi, Jenna Suds, Helena Jaczek, Leah Taylor Roy, Majid Jowhari, Ali Ehsassi, Bardish Chagger, etc. In addition, more than 500 community representatives and guests from Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and other places gathered together, and the scene was full of joy and a strong New Year's atmosphere.
Reader, it looks like junior followed in papa’s footsteps, doesn’t it? It looks like junior has a great affinity for and a cozy relationship with pro-Beijing individuals, doesn’t it? It’s touching and sweet, ain’t it, reader? Sarcasm alert.
Anyway.
Here’s an interesting story for you from Andy Lee,
about how a pro-Beijing UFWD affiliate Gu Jianyun supported Justin Trudeau’s political career. Reader, you should find Andy on X and follow her work.Reader, yesterday I read the book elder Trudeau wrote about his 1960 trip to the PRC. I found it wildly interesting and quite off putting to read Trudeau regurgitating the Chinese Communist Party narratives. At several points in the trip the PRC handlers mentioned how Mao saved his people from hunger blah blah. The repugnance of such willful blindness in the face of immense suffering and horror disturbed me a lot. Juxtaposing the man who championed human rights in Canada via his Charter of Rights and Freedoms with the man who admired Mao and the Chinese Communist Regime — that’s a mind blowing thing, reader.
I think we must view the story of the Trudeau-led LPC facilitating and/or allowing the UFWD to infiltrate its party base and influence policy and governance, together with the willingness to ignore trans national repression, through the lens of elder Trudeau’s affinity for and position on communist China and its glorified father Mao. I’ve included a screenshot of Two Innocents in Red China, 1968. I’ve also included a photo of elder Trudeau shaking hands with Mao Zedong, 1973.

Timeline: A brief history of the relationship between the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) and the United Front of the Chinese Communist Party
Here’s Map 4 from Dotting the Map, for your perusal.
2013 — Trudeau junior begins his LPC reign.
2014/5 — CPPCC4 member Bin Zhang conversation with PRC consulate official regarding getting a LPC win in 2015 and the $1 million donation in honour of Trudeau.
2015 — Trudeau leads the party to victory.
2016 — Trudeau cash for access with PRC-friendly elites/business men.
2019/20 — The Great Reset: the Pandemic descends upon Canada.
Wuhan virus and Winnipeg Level 4 virology lab and the PRC spy.
Liberal government collaborated with united front looting the emergency reserve of PPE to send to Wuhan.
Chinese consulate in Toronto helped the campaigns of 11 candidates in the October 2019 federal election.
Trudeau denies veracity of CSIS leak.
2021 — Tales of election interference refuse to die.
Erin O’Toole alleges that the CPC lost up to nine seats in the September 2021 election because of Chinese interference.
Walled Soliman, who served as the co-chair of the 2021 Conservative election campaign, said the SITE task force did not take his party’s concerns about foreign interference seriously.
SITE-TF didn’t alert public and political parties.
Former Chinese consul-general in Vancouver Tong Xiaoling bragged in late 2021 about how she helped defeat two Conservative MPs. One of them was Conservative Kenny Chiu, an outspoken critic of Beijing.
PRC spread falsehoods on social media and provided undeclared cash donations in the 2021 election.
NOIC bus loads of students to Han Dong nomination.
Beijing encouraged donations to the LPC illegally returned a portion of a donation so the donor was not out of pocket after claiming a tax receipt.
2022 — Vancouver municipal election in October 2022.
China’s then-consul-general in Vancouver Tong Xiaoling reported by CSIS to have engaged in “grooming” – Chinese-Canadian municipal politicians for higher office to advance Beijing’s interests.
2023 — Calls for a public inquiry into the CSIS leaks and election interference.
Why did the CSIS Whistleblower do it?
Former chief electoral officer Jean-Pierre Kingsley calls for an independent inquiry into the CSIS reports of PRC interference.
CSIS documents outline how China backed the re-election of the Trudeau Liberals – but only to another minority government – and worked to defeat Conservative politicians considered to be unfriendly to Beijing.
Kingsley said that Critical Election Incident Public Protocol panel, set up in 2019 to assess and analyze foreign election interference, is not independent because it is made up of senior civil servants who report to the Prime Minister.
Trudeau denies any interference and insists the 2019 and 2021 election results are solid.
David Johnston assigned special rapporteur on March 6th. HoC calls for his resignation at the end of May, he resigns on June 9th.
Justice Marie-Josée Hogue appointed to lead inquiry on September 7th.
Spamouflage scandal reported by Australia and identitied by the Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) on October 23rd.
2024 — Hogue Inquiry begins on January 29th.
Liberal government wants closed door testimony, Hogue wants full public hearings.
In April Trudeau testified he doesn’t necessarily believe CSIS accusations of FI and he says he doesn’t read reports that the only way to ensure he gets important information is to feed it to him directly in person or via secure phone call.
Hogue makes initial report in May, downplays bad faith FI and says elections weren’t affected.
Inquiry resumes on 16 September and continues thru October.
In November deadline extended to end of January 2025.
2025 — Hogue tables her report, decides no traitors in parliament.
“The evidence presented to the Commission during its public hearings suggests some foreign interference (and transnational repression) undertaken by foreign diplomatic personnel is carried out through consulates. This evidence implicated consulates in Toronto and Vancouver in particular.”
Fife and Chase report that Justice Marie-Josée Hogue said she did not examine transnational repression in depth because she felt it “goes well beyond the democratic processes and institutions my mandate tasked me with examining.”
Fife and Chase also noted that the terms of reference provided to Justice Hogue had asked her to examine and assess the capacity of relevant federal departments, structures and processes “to detect, deter and counter any form of foreign interference directly or indirectly targeting Canada’s democratic processes,” including in relation to “supports and protections in place for members of a diaspora who may be especially vulnerable and may be the first victims of foreign interference in Canada’s democratic processes.”
Critics and FI NGO watch dogs say the report lacks teeth and that a registry needs to go beyond lobbying and needs to address Chinese language media in Canada. Mehmet Tohti said “A hostile regime will interpret this complacency as an indirect green light,” he said. “I expected a wake-up call, a serious reckoning that would lead to the creation of a stronger, more effective mechanism for protection and self-defence.”
Election 2025 — Trudeau successor chosen in LPC leadership race. Carney wins, calls a snap election.
Paul Chiang calling on his Chinese audience to collect the 1 million HK dollar bounty on Joe Tay’s head was a joke. It was a teachable moment donchaknow.
The Peter Yuen fanboy for the CCP thing is NBD. We aren’t even talking about that so shhhh.
The meeting between Rui Jiang Denson Xu et al of the JCCC, (a UFWD group), and Carney never happened the photograph is not what we think, it’s all a RW conspiracy theory.

BREAKING: Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights released an open letter to Mark Carney by Sgt Peter Merrifield and Det (ret’d) Paul McNamara. The group dropped the Google Drive document on Xwitter around 5 hours ago the time of writing this (10:00 hours Vancouver time). After careful review and consideration, I think of this as distraction — unrelated to the kind of PRC/UFWD foreign interference I investigate and examine here at Bad Hijabi. Nonetheless it’s making the rounds in the Maple MAGA crowd, so I include it here.
I won’t spend much more time on this story. Here’s a quick rundown.
When Merrifield and McNamara filed their lawsuit against CSIS a year ago Fife and Chase reported on it [gift link]. Here’s a Globe and Mail story from 2023 about the case against Majcher.
It appears that CSIS revoked the security clearance of these two men based on their acquaintance with another former RCMP officer, named Bill Majcher and based in Hong Kong. Majcher used his professional network of connections to obtain information that benefited the PRC during the extradition case of Huawei executive Meng Wenzhou and the PRC arrest of the two Michaels that followed.
Merrifield and McNamara allege that CSIS falsified evidence to run cover for their failure to address the failing relationship between PRC and Canada vis a vis the Meng Wenzhou-two Michaels crisis. Merrifield and McNamara allege that their connection to the CPC contributed to the treatment they received by RCMP and CSIS. Justice Hogue denied them standing at her public inquiry. Controversy swirls around the RCMP and possibly some Ontario based police departments having and using ODIT surveillance, which enables law enforcement to activate electronic surveillance remotely.
I don’t know the status of the Merrifield and McNamara lawsuit. I would think that it would be unwise to publicly discuss and sensationalise such a case before the courts, though. So I question the timing and intention of this release. You can access the document here: Open Letter Package, 12.04.2025.
Okay, reader. That’s a very spartan timeline of the events surrounding PRC FI and the PRC/UFWD attempts to influence elections. And I threw in the Merrifield McNamara Majcher (aka 3M) story as a bonus. Reader, at this point I’m inclined to think of the 3M story as a misinformation vector.
Doubtless the pro-Beijing crowd and their useful idiots will weaponise this case in an effort to delegitimise CSIS intelligence work on the PRC file. Doubtless Maple MAGA muppets will weaponise this case in their crusade against the LPC. Both sides suck and I want nothing to do with that behaviour. Anyway. It’s unclear what Majcher intended when he decided to help out the Beijing-based think tank with his report on Canada’s extradition process. It seems he decided to freelance. It’s unclear why the other two men got punished for their association with Majcher — did the association meet any legal threshold? It’s not evident. What’s going on with CSIS? I have no idea.
I’ll leave it there.
Moving on.
Reader, you can assess the PRC FI situation for yourself, based on the obvious scale of the UFWD operations in Canada. You can make what you will of the 3M story.
Reader, you can assess the ethics and integrity of the LPC based on some domestic election interference mischief being perpetrated by the LPC against the CPC. Keep reading for some examples of domestic election interference perpetrated by the LOC against the CPC.
Last week we learned about LPC affiliated extremists vandalising CPC election signs. Barbara Bal, CPC candidate running against Mark Carney, revealed that she had a way to determine who was damaging and stealing her signs.
Today on Xwitter Truckdriverpleb shared a video of a LPC extremist vandalising signs in Markham-Thornhill, you can see the clip below.
This past weekend we learned about ButtonGate — in which staffers from the Liberal Party war room infiltrate the Manning Conference (a $450/ticket event btw) and plant fake buttons the LPC had designed and printed in an effort to mislead the public into associating Trump style politics with the CPC. Staffers bragged about ButtonGate at D’arcy’s Pub in Ottawa, where a CBC reporter Kate McKenna overheard the story. Apparently the LPC spins ButtonGate as a joke and we are buzzkills if we don’t get it.
You can see the presser clip below from this morning, in which Kate McKenna asks Carney about ButtonGate. What these Liberal War Room staffers did veers into shady af territory, perhaps even entails a violation of the Canada Elections Act. You can judge for yourself Carney’s response to his own election war room engaging in dirty tricks.
So, reader, let me get this straight.
Team Canada Liberals want Canadians to believe they’re gonna protect us from Orange Man Bad. Yet they’ve made a cult out of castigating conservatives as MAGA types, and they project all manner of divisive rhetoric onto conservatives. Remember that Team Canada Elbows Up LPC Frat Boys spent several years defaming Canada as genocidal based on a hyperbolic lie about some inconclusive ground penetrating radar (GPR) testing. The federally funded GPR propagandists are doubling down by insisting on criminalising any challenges to the mass grave lie. Orange Man Bad though, reader!
So now, isn’t it rich that Team Canada Elbows Up LPC Frat Boys have decided they’re indeed patriotic? After mashing us into the ground with a dishonest and demoralising post-national Maoist narrative, the Team Canada Elbows Up Frat Boys aka LPC decided to show their patriotism to Canada by sh1tting on our political institutions and completely mocking due process and electoral integrity? After lecturing the country on disinformation and its dangers to our democracy, the LPC Frat boys aka Team Canada have become the biggest drivers of disinformation?
Gaslighters.
Reader, don’t get distracted, keep your focus. See you back here tomorrow.
