Is David Eby a Shill for the PRC?
why place a moratorium on US contracts when the PRC is the national threat?
“As people are choosing to buy B.C. and buy Canadian, British Columbians expect their government to join them in choosing to avoid U.S. purchases wherever possible,” said Premier David Eby. “That’s why we’ve directed our government to use its purchasing power to exclude American suppliers and support Canadian companies and trusted and reliable trading partners instead. Today, we’re expanding that directive to include looking for every opportunity to move existing contracts away from U.S. suppliers and cancelling non-essential government travel to the United States.” — press release, Office of the Premier, 10.4.2025
It’s widely known David Eby rubs shoulders with the pro-Beijing crowd. He counts amongst his trusted advisors pro-Beijing blokes —Rise Media1 journalist Ding Guo, who heads The Canada Committee 100 Society, and Niu Hua2, of the Canadian Community Service Association. Eby meets regularly with The Canada Committee 100 Society—takes policy advice from the group, whose advisory committee includes Victor Oh, who has links to the United Front group Jiangsu International Chamber of Commerce and has made no secret about his desire to discredit investigation of PRC interference. On a 2023 trip to the PRC, Eby chose to speak to a known pro-CCP media outlet, Sing Tao Daily. Open data reveals that in March of 2019, in his capacity as AG, Eby awarded a $50K contract to his friend’s organization, The Canada 100 Committee. Eby also gave his friend a $25K grant to study antiracism, in December of 2021.
Eby supported his friend Ding Guo’s book, published by Huaxia Publishing House in Beijing. In his book, Guo omits the Tiananmen Square Massacre, together with the pro-democracy movement that it sparked in the Chinese community in Canada. Frequently Guo aligns himself with the CCP. So, reader, it would seem that David Eby, former AG and current Premier of British Columbia, has a pro-CCP advisor, at a time when UFWD influence has impacted all levels of government and dominated all Chinese language media, and at time when CSIS has adamantly insisted that Canada must take PRC foreign interference more seriously.
So, given all this, why does David Eby decide to block American purchases rather than PRC purchases? Would it have anything to do with the CCP position on America? Did Mr. Guo and the Canada Committee 100 Society advise Eby to make anti-Americanism a government policy?
Does the premier of B.C. take political policy advice from the pro-Beijing crowd, now? Reader, that should disturb you.
I’ll leave you with a 32 minute video that features Sam Cooper talking about the research that went into his book Willful Blindness. David Eby and Ding Guo are mentioned at around the 3 minute mark. Note Senator Woo thinks it’s racist to oppose UFWD involvement in the Chinese community — in doing so he legitimises the UFWD and the pro-CCP position.
Note at around the 9 minute mark Sam tells us that ministerial staff met privately with the persona non grata PRC diplomat, Zhoa Wei. Canada expelled Wei for targeting Michael Chong and his family. Note that Charles Burton and Michel Juneau Katsuya indicate they think as much as 70% of PRC diplomats in Canada engage in influence activities as opposed to actual diplomatic activities. Note the foreign interference occurs at all levels of government. There’s a problem with the way national security and foreign affairs operate in Canada, when the PM seems uninterested in protecting the security interests of the country, and proceeds to heckle the opposition leader for refusing to get clearance—it’s a joke. The PRC has conducted its influence operations within Canada confidently for many years, successive governments have ignored the threat. The security infrastructure operates in isolation, failing to keep the elected official and the public informed or engaged in the threat landscape. Something must change, many things must change.
Why does David Eby attack the US whilst he coddles and enables the PRC? I can only conclude that he favours the Communist Party of China over the democratic America. Reader, that should worry you. The premier of British Columbia shilling for the PRC should worry all Canadians.
Investigations by independent journalist Andy Lee have revealed that Rise Media has engaged in election interference, attacking Conservatives with disinformation, and has vocally opposed the foreign registry law.
Niu Hua attended the 10th Conference for Friendship of Overseas Chinese Associations in May of 2023. Overseas Chinese Friendship Associations come under the umbrella of the United Front of the Chinese Communist Party.
Is there anyone in Canadian politics left of centre who is NOT one of China’s compradors?
