A little something different today because I am bit behind and not ready to post the thing I intended. In the summer I discovered Midjourney AI and I decided to see what the Qur’an would look like. I chose a passage from each Surah in the Qur’an, selecting for words that evoke imagery and feeling and phrases that uniquely convey meaning. The Qur’an is known as an unrivalled literary work in the Arabic language, and with careful and proper translation, it is possible to experience that in English. I chose specific translations, and I remained consistent. I used no style modifier, no artistic description, I only input the words from the specific line in the specific surah. The AI delivered this image. I have a collection of over 100 images from Midjourney based on the Qur’an that I want to gather into a book—it is an ongoing Canva design project of mine, a sort of Visual Tafseer.
