Are We Done Yet?
in which I rant and whinge about the state of things
Hey, readers. Are we done yet? I mean with this election stuff. Are we done?
Because, dude, I’m done like a well done burnt steak. I’m irritated. I’m annoyed. I’m done with the disingenuous mainstream media (funded as they are by the United Front of Libranos). I’m done with brain worm infested leftwing people. I’m done with people who think it’s journalism to follow other people around and film them unpleasantly reacting to perceived harassment and assholery. I’m done with people who hide behind the anti-racism card to dodge accountability for Hamastinian terrorism or the United Front-Chinese Communist Party foreign interference.
I’m done with people from the Luciferian Sex Denialism Cult telling me female reproduction is hateful and homophobic. I’m done with deliberate morons. I’m done with evangelicals of all stripes, including and especially atheist evangelicals. I’m done with the Franz Fanon Fan Club. I’m done with the mouth breathing pseudo-intellectual cretins who entirely misunderstand Foucault and then act out exactly what he wrote about and then carry an unfounded and repugnant rumour about a gay man because it aligns with their confirmation bias. I’m tired of the everyone who disagrees with me is a Nazi or pedo or racist blah blah blah.
I’m done with the everyone who expresses Conservativism is a far right Trumpian blah blah blah. I’m done with the it’s the okay to set Teslas on fire because I hate Elon Musk blah blah blah. I’m done with the it’s the okay to set churches on fire because of fake mass graves blah blah blah. I’m done with the it’s the okay to set synagogues on fire because Netanyahu blah blah blah. I’m done with the it’s the okay to call for the mass elimination of Jews and Europeans because of a geopolitical situation in the MENA Region blah blah blah. I’m done with the of mass immigration is compassionate and if you disagree you’re a racist blah blah blah.
I’m done with the unfettered drug addiction and violent crime are fine and you’re a far right Trumpian if you disagree blah blah blah. I’m done with the fossil fuels and pipelines are bad blah blah blah from people who purchase and use things made by exploited Chinese factory workers. I’m done with the conservatives are shilling for rich people and their tax shelters blah blah blah from people who live in 501c3landia and provide tax shelters for bored rich people with a saviour or a Napoleon complex. I’m done with the Maoists who accuse others of genocide.
I’m done with the politicians having openly friendly political relationships with CCP proxies and members. I’m done with the CCP is our diplomatic friend blah blah blah. I’m done with politically appointed national security civil servants who pretend the house on fire is a fcuking nifty fire place. I’m done with the United Front fcuking with our sh1t. I’m done with the parents are oppressors blah blah blah. I’m done with the disobedient or feisty or disagreeable women are Karens blah blah blah. I’m done with the transvestites are women and women who disagree are genocidal white supremacists blah blah blah. I’m done with the law being relegated to a decorative accessory. I’m done with the putting criminals in jail for a long time is mean blah blah blah. I’m done with the putting dangerous male criminals in male prison is mean blah blah blah.
I’m so done.
Happy Friday, reader.
Gee, those are all things that I am done with, too! What a coincidence!
👍 🙂 Reminds me of a quip by my father from his (WW2) army days about the "modus operandi" of cooks there and then: "when it's smoking it's cooking and when it's burnt it's done". 😉🙂
But reminds me also of a couple of books, Charles Mackay's "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and The Madness of Crowds" and Mark Twain's Corn-pone Opinions:
https://www.amazon.ca/Extraordinary-Popular-Delusions-Madness-Crowds/dp/1539849589/
Couple of paragraphs from the latter that seem relevant:
MT: "Men think they think upon great political questions, and they do; but they think with their party, not independently; they read its literature, but not that of the other side; they arrive at convictions, but they are drawn from a partial view of the matter in hand and are of no particular value. They swarm with their party, they feel with their party, they are happy in their party's approval; and where the party leads they will follow, whether for right and honor, or through blood and dirt and a mush of mutilated morals.
In our late canvass half of the nation passionately believed that in silver lay salvation, the other half as passionately believed that that way lay destruction. Do you believe that a tenth part of the people, on either side, had any rational excuse for having an opinion about the matter at all? I studied that mighty question to the bottom -- came out empty. Half of our people passionately believe in high tariff, the other half believe otherwise. Does this mean study and examination, or only feeling? The latter, I think. I have deeply studied that question, too -- and didn't arrive. We all do no end of feeling, and we mistake it for thinking. And out of it we get an aggregation which we consider a boon. Its name is Public Opinion. It is held in reverence. It settles everything. Some think it the Voice of God."
